The Calabasas boys’ basketball team won the Campbell Hall basketball tournament at Garver Gymnasium.
The Coyotes led all the way in a 75-60 victory to win the Campbell Hall Coaches vs. Cancer tournament.
Calabasas improved to 15-1 overall at the tournament since 2009.
Jeremy Lieberman scored 28 points, had seven assists and made several key baskets.
“I love these types of games,” Lieberman said. “We expect nothing less than winning. I couldn’t have done it without my teammates.”
One of those teammates was Max Hoetzel, who scored 27 points.
“Jeremy did what he is supposed to do and I am glad for Max that he is finally able to be out here and playing,” Calabasas coach Jon Palarz said.
“He has been injured and hasn’t played too much. He is capable and versatile.”
Every time Campbell Hall made a run, Calabasas answered.
“Jeremy was able to right the ship in the heat of the battle,” Palarz said. “He got to the rim, he got to he foul line, he didn’t settle for jump shots.”
Michael Hayon scored eight points, but his 14 rebounds were the most valuable. Alex Monsegue added seven points for the Coyotes.
